Rumble On The Rio! April 22-23

 

STATE News:

TAOS — This weekend is Rumble on the Rio!, an action-packed, two day, roller derby tournament, featuring leagues from across the southwest.

Seven roller derby leagues from across Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico will converge on Taos, NM for a gripping weekend, chock-full of hard-hitting skaters, full-contact puns, and women’s empowerment.

Rumble on the Rio! is April 22-23 at Taos Youth and Family Center. Doors open at 9 a.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday. The complete schedule is available at www.rumbleontherio.com. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Capodaglio Is Top Predictor In Weekly Pace Race

ACRR News: 

Giacomo Capodaglio was the best predictor in the weekly pace race held Tuesday on the road in lower Bayo Canyon at 7 seconds off his predicted time. 

Other accurate predictors were: 

  • Anders Medin, 13, and Madeline Harms with a tie with a 9 second differential;
  • Eugenya Simakov and Tony Borek tied at 10 seconds off;
  • Mary Snow recording 12 seconds off; and
  • and Elivcrio Acosta and Valerio Pinchetti tied at 21 seconds.

On the 1 mile course Adrian Medin, 12, was the best finisher at 7:03 and the top female was Priscila Rosa recording a 9:28.

LASG: New Mexico State Gymnastics Championship Results

LASG News:

Los Alamos School of Gymnastics (LASG) announces that the Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers took 10 gymnasts to the USAG Xcel Gymnastics New Mexico State Championships March 26. There were more than 220 Xcel New Mexico gymnasts competing.

In the Bronze level of competition Amelie Vallejo was the big winner of the day, sweeping the child older division by taking the gold medal in the all around with 36.25. The scores that netted her gold medals on each of the four individual event competitions were, 9.225 on both bars and floor, and 8.90 on both beam and vault. Read More
