Winter Hours:
  • Monday through Friday open for lunch and dinner 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
  • Saturday open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and
  • Sunday open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for brunch and dinner.

On the weekends, Karen Easton works at Kokoman Fine Wine and Liquors. She does it because she loves wine. As a wine connoisseur, she enjoys her time serving during the wine tastings and dusting the wine bottles.

A few months ago, Easton was attending a wine tasting event where distributors brought all their wines and let people sample them. In the corner was a wine representative who wasn’t getting a lot of attention.

Sena and his wife Margie have been selling ice cream in town for more than 25 years. They raised their three children; Nadette, Jake and Adrienne in Los Alamos. They are pleased to bring the community a nice place to have ice cream and other fine foods. The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation has announced that it will hold its popular fundraiser, Taste of Knowledge, at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the old De Colores restaurant location.
The theme this year is “Experience the Food and Wine of Spain”. Pig+Fig’s Chef Laura Crucet will create scrumptious Spanish tapas, which will be paired with unique boutique Spanish wines.
True to its name, Taste of Knowledge will not only be fun and entertaining, but it will be educational as well.

SANTA FE  New Mexico chef, Marc Quiñones, took 3rd place at the 14th annual Great American Seafood Cookoff, a national cooking competition, held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Thirteen U.S. chefs were pitted against one another in a live cooking show Aug. 5.
As the executive chef at MAS Tapas y Vino, located inside Albuquerque’s Hotel Andaluz, Quiñones was selected to represent New Mexico after an invitation was sent by Lousiana’s Lt. Gov.

The Pig + Fig Café will present a fundraising dinner to benefit Self Help, Inc. at 6 p.m. Sept. 10. Each of the six courses will feature farm to table dishes paired with an  array of Rhone varietal wines from Pig + Fig Café owner Laura Crucet’s private collection.

Tickets are $95 per person and can be purchased on their Eventbrite Page by clicking here.

Crucet will donate 100 percent of the profits from the dinner to Self Help.

SANTA FE – Pie Town. This tiny community tucked in southwestern New Mexico has a name that will pique your curiosity and make your mouth water at the same time.

Today, the New Mexico Tourism Department released the latest New Mexico True Story, “Pie Town,” a tribute to the state’s smallest town with the biggest sweet tooth. The release comes right before the community’s largest annual event, the Pie Festival.

JEMEZ SPRINGS—A new event in Jemez Springs is sure to stir up some enthusiasm over Labor Day weekend – the first ever Big Foot Barbecue and Blues Fest, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2.

Area resident Felix Nuñez originated the event. He has been fascinated with the idea of the elusive Bigfoot creature, following several unexplainable sounds he’s heard and documented in the Jemez Mountains over the years.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary would like to invite the public for a pulled-pork sandwich fundraising dinner at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18 at the VFW Post, 1793 Deacon St.

The dinner will be prepared by Smokin' Bear BBQ and will consist of pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, baked beans and dessert. Proceeds will help support Veterans and other non-profit organizations.
