SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 239 additional positive tests for COVID-19.
Los Alamos County remains at 32 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.
Today’s update also announces 2 new deaths reported in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:
- 58 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 16 new cases in Chaves County
- 5 new cases in Cibola County
- 11 new cases in Curry County

Los Alamos County employee Shirley Huber reached a milestone no other County employee has accomplished.
Huber, an Office Specialist in the Information Management Division, has served the County for 55 years.
She bid her career, reluctantly, goodbye this week. Her departure caused a few tears in her colleagues and the County Council presented Huber with a special proclamation during its meeting Tuesday night.

Los Alamos County has unwanted guests and is now debating how best to get them to leave.
The County Council wrestled with this question during its work session Tuesday night. The guests are bears and the issue is how to discourage them from visiting residences to dine on the all-they-can-eat buffets found in trash cans and encourage them to return to their natural habitat.
