ALBUQUERQUE Tuesday, Attorney General Hector Balderas cautioned New Mexico consumers not to submit their banking information over the internet—unless consumers have initiated contact with the bank.
 
The advisory came after the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General received several reports of scammers receiving banking account numbers through ‘phishing’ for information on a banking website.

Santa Ana Pueblo – Around noon July 11 fugitive Johnny Black was spotted near Warrior Fuel on US 550 in Bernalillo by a Santa Ana Tribal Police officer.

Black was successfully taken into custody and arrested by the Santa Ana Tribal Police.

The New Mexico State Police would like to thank the public for its patience and assistance as officers worked to bring this dangerous fugitive into custody.

Susana Martinez was joined by Air Force Officials, at Cannon Air Force Base, to sign an executive order that creates economic and employment opportunities for New Mexicans by ensuring occupational license requirements are not overly burdensome for individuals and businesses, as well as eliminating outdated regulations and aligning best practices across the state’s licensing bodies.

SANTA FE The historic Palace of the Governors in Santa Fe will close to the public for six months beginning in August as the next phase of the multi-year remodeling project commences.
 
The remodeling project began in 2016-2017 with new exterior stucco and plaster. The New Mexico History Museum, the Palace Press, the History Library and Photo Archives remain open throughout the duration of the Palace closure.

The New Mexico State Police is actively searching for Black, 32, of Pojoaque. Black is wanted for shooing at a State Police officer June 25 in Espanola, and shooting at a Rio Arriba County Deputy a week prior.

Santa Fe National Forest lifted its closure July 9 and all outdoor activities like fishing, hiking and camping are now permitted again on Santa Fe National Forest lands. The closure had been enacted June 1 because of the extreme fire conditions due to the hot and dry weather. Recent rainfall and the start of the summer monsoon season prompted the reopening of Santa Fe National Forest.
