SANTA FE ― The Department of Game and Fish is seeking public comment on a proposed translocation of desert bighorn sheep to the Sacramento Mountains.
The department is proposing to re-establish desert bighorn sheep in the Sacramento Mountains in the autumn of 2018. This species has been absent from these mountains for nearly a century.

NMSP News:During the Labor Day holiday, the New Mexico State Police participated in the Combined Accident Reduction Effort (CARE) operation across all roadways within the state.
The goal of the traffic initiative is that a strong law enforcement presence will have a direct effect on the driving behaviors of motorists during the holiday weekend, and, thus, reduce the number of crashes and increase motorist safety.

FBI News:ALBUQUERQUE ― Ronald P. Lopez, 25, of Albuquerque, pled guilty Aug. 29 in Federal Court to a bank robbery charge. Lopez entered the guilty plea without the benefit of a plea agreement.
The FBI arrested Lopez March 14, 2018, on a criminal complaint charging him with robbing the US Bank branch located at 2015 Eubank Blvd., in Albuquerque Feb. 26, 2018. Lopez subsequently was indicted April 10, 2018, and was charged with bank robbery Feb. 26, 2018, in Bernalillo County.
At sentencing, Lopez faces a statutory maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a $250,000
