SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced this afternoon 2,076 additional positive tests for COVID-19.
Los Alamos County reports 3 more cases today … the total is now 134 people who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Today’s update includes 23 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:
- 719 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 1 new case in Catron County
- 162 new cases in Chaves County
- 17 new cases in Cibola County
- 7 new cases in Colfax County
- 40 new cases in Curry County
- 1 new case in De Baca County
- 218 new cases

FBI: Tohajiilee Man Pleads Guilty To Murder And Use Of Firearm In Crime Of Violence In Indian Country
FBI News:
ALBUQUERQUE — Tristian Cadman of Tohajilee, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree murder and using a firearm in a crime of violence.
A grand jury indicted Cadman Sept. 11, 2019.
In his plea agreement, Cadman admitted that early in the morning of Aug. 21, 2019, he and an associate armed themselves and attempted to rob the victim and the victim’s companion. Following a scuffle, Cadman shot and killed the victim.
The murder took place on the Navajo Nation. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Cadman faces 10 years to life in prison.

NMSP Investigate Shooting Involving Deming Police
NMSP News:
DEMING — The New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau was contacted Tuesday, Nov. 24 to investigate a police shooting involving the Deming Police Department.
At approximately 12:47 p.m. Tuesday, the Deming Police Department (DPD) was notified regarding a male subject, later identified as Lorenzo Aguilar, 37, of Deming, who was known to have a felony arrest warrant.
Aguilar was reported to be on Birch Street in Deming. When officers arrived on scene, they observed Aguilar in a vehicle. As officers approached the vehicle Aguilar fled and a pursuit was initiated.

SANTA FE – The Income Support Division office at 3604 San Jose Blvd., in Carlsbad is temporarily closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, and will reopen Monday, Dec. 7, the Human Services Department announced today.

The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) has updated its daily Rapid Response COVID-19 Watchlist, which includes New Mexico places of employment that have had two or more rapid responses in the last 14 days.
There are 237 establishments on the Watchlist.
The current Rapid Response COVID-19 Watchlist and closure list, which includes all establishments that are currently required to be closed, are posted here.
