The deadline to turn in applications for The Family YMCA’s Summer Youth Conservation Corps trail repair program is 8 a.m. Monday, March 12.

Applications turned in earlier are appreciated.

Applications may be turned in at the Los Alamos and Española YMCA teen centers by close of business Friday, March 9, or delivered 8 a.m. Monday, March 12 to The Family YMCA, 1450 Iris St. in Los Alamos.

The Y is hiring up to 40 positions.

Enchanted Forest Open For Skiing & Snowshoeing

This is the first year since Enchanted Forest opened in 1985 in Red River that it has remained closed ... until last weekend.
Fresh snow last week and additional new snow Tuesday has made conditions very nice for skiing on the "inner loop".
More snow is expected for a possible 6 inches of new snow on the trails. By today we will be out grooming and the chance for good skiing this weekend is high! We may see unseasonably warm temperatures again next week so grab your skinny skis and come on out while you still can.

Pajarito Receives 10 Inches So Far ... More Expected

Pajarito Mountain Ski Area in Los Alamos received 10 inches of snow with this latest storm, and it's still snowing today!
Pajarito Mountain Cafe is open 8 a.m. through 4 p.m., with breakfast burritos, a legendary bacon green chili double cheeseburger for lunch, chili cheese fries and giant cookies in the afternoon. There is something on the menu that everyone can enjoy.
Lift tickets are $24 for all ages.

Bandelier And Valles Caldera On 2-Hour Delay Today

Both Bandelier National Monument and the Valles Caldera National Preserve are on a 2-hour delayed start time due to winter weather conditions.

The camp kicks off 5:30-9 p.m. Friday, April 6 and continues 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, April 7 and 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 8, at Camp Elliott Barker, 79 Westridge Road in Angel Fire.


Camp CEO will provide girls with empowering activities and mentoring from professional women.

Santa Fe Watershed Prescribed Burn Feb. 26

SANTA FE  Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) plan to take advantage of favorable conditions, including fuel moisture levels, air quality, and winds and weather forecasts to conduct a two-day prescribed burn in the Santa Fe Watershed. Possibly starting Monday, Feb. 26.  
The 755-acre treatment area is approximately three miles east of the City of Santa Fe on the south end between Nichols and McClure Reservoirs.
Impacts from the hand and aerial ignitions are expected to be minimal due to this being a second entry prescribed burn into this particular
