Church Fire Deemed Accidental

The New Mexico Fire Marshal's Office has determined that the cause of the fire at the New Beginnings Church July 4 was electrical and accidental.

Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly encouraged for the High Tea and Fashion Show because this event has sold out the last two years.

The House of Hope ladies’ mission team and the co-ed Trinity Builders team warmly invite the community to join them again this year for a sumptuous tea, followed by a stylish fashion show.

The afternoon’s activities are intended to raise funds for house-building mission trips to Juárez, Mexico.

UPDATE: Tonight during an interview with Jemez Springs Mayor Edmond Temple, he said Bill Hutchinson of the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) had previously informed him that the feds would not permit artwork depicting crosses be attached to two new bridges in the village.

TOTH's 'Pie in the Sky' Fundraiser Exceeds $500

Morning Fire Destroys Chapel at New Beginnings Fellowship Church

Staff Report

A large fire broke out this morning in the chapel of the New Beginnings Fellowship Church, 112 East Road.

One firefighter was transported to Los Alamos Medical Center after a 5-inch coupling broke loose and injured his ankle as he battled the blaze.

No one else was hurt, Deputy Fire Chief Justin Grider said.

House of Hope Women Host 'Pie in the Sky' Dinner July 12

In support of the Trinity on the Hill-sponsored house-building mission trips to Juarez, Mexico, the House of Hope women are hosting a pot pie, “Pie in the Sky” Fundraiser Dinner from 5:30-7 p.m., Thursday July 12 in Kelly Hall.

The menu includes chicken and vegetable pot pies, salad and ice cream. (There also is a vegetarian option and a gluten-free option is available.)

Tickets are $10/adult and $5/child.

Our Lady of the Woods will meet at the Pyramid Cafe on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 6 PM. Anyone interested in paganism, Wicca, or learning about OLW is welcome to join us.
 
Our Lady of the Woods, an eclectic Wiccan coven based in Los Alamos, will hold a Drumming circle in North Mesa Park on Monday June 11, 2012 at 6PM.  Bring a drum or other musical instrument if you have one. We'll have some extra instruments, drums, or shakers on hand. Plan to spend a fun evening making music and sharing rhythms and chants. Dress for the weather.
