Governor Orders Flags To Half-Staff In Mourning For New Mexico State Police Officer Killed In Line Of Duty

From the Office of the Governor:

SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced this afternoon she will order all flags to half-staff in the state of New Mexico, beginning Friday, in mourning for a uniformed member of the New Mexico State Police who was killed today in the line of duty on Interstate 10.

Flags will be ordered to be flown at half-staff from Friday, Feb. 5, through sundown Tuesday, Feb. 9.

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced this afternoon 565 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County reports 4 new cases today bringing the total to 456 people who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update includes 17 more deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The New Mexico Department of Health reports today’s most recent cases:

  • 159 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 18 new cases in Chaves County
  • 12 new cases in Cibola County
  • 2 new cases in Colfax County
  • 6 new cases in Curry County

SANTA FE—The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) issued public health guidance today for New Mexicans ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl.
