SFNF Stops Ignitions On Gallinas Watershed Burn
SFNF News:
SANTA FE – There will be no additional ignitions on the Gallinas Watershed prescribed burn this month, according to fire managers on the Pecos/Las Vegas Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF). Crews will continue to monitor treated units within the watershed.
Even though ignitions have ceased, small pockets within the project area continue to burn at low intensity, and smoke is visible from Gallinas, Romeroville, Porvenir, Tecolote, Mineral Hill, Las Vegas and I-25.

Size: 6.3 acres, 100 percent contained.
Location: Near Forest Road (FR) 376 on the Jemez Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest.
Vegetation: Logging slash and pre-made piles.

The Guadalupe Fire is burning in the Jemez Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest.
Start Date: Dec. 8
Cause: Human
Size: 6.2 acres, 40 percent contained
Location: Near Forest Road (FR) 376 on the Jemez Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest. Smoke is visible as far south as Rio Rancho. Travelers along FR 376 need to be mindful of fire personnel and equipment in the area.
