UPDATE: At approximately 12.45 p.m. today, LAFD responded to reports of a small wildland fire in LA Canyon, on West Road near the Ice Rink. The fire is fully contained and the cause is under investigation by LAFD. Crews are mopping up at the scene. The Pajarito Ski Hill and some homes near Fairway and Trinity Drive are without power. The Department of Public Utilities’ electric linemen anticipate that power will be restored by 4 p.m. today.

LAFD News:

Wind either toppled a power pole or an electrical line arc-fault occurred today in the canyon near the Los Alamos Ice Rink, which sparked a small fire.

Los Alamos firefighters are on the scene dousing the fire.

LAFD reminds residents that Los Alamos County is under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions and asks everyone to be extra cautious during today's windy conditions.
