Three Local Champions Emerge In 2017 Knights Of Columbus District Free Throw Contest

The Los Alamos Sacred Heart Council #3137 champions competed against three other northern New Mexico Knights of Columbus Councils in the 2017 Knights of Columbus District Free Throw Contest Feb. 18 at Espanola Middle School Gymnasium.

At the end of the competition, three local champions won their respective divisions and are advancing to the state championships March 18 at Bernalillo High School
Local champions:
  • Benjamin Sanchez won the boys 9-year-old division;
  • Lukas Ulibarri won the 10-year-old boy division; and
  • Joshua Woodson was crowned champion in the boys' 13-year-old bracket.
  • Abraham Sanchez (11-year-old);
  • Nora Johnson (11);
  • Tyler Archuleta (12); and
  • Lucario Chavez (14).

“The Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council #3137 is very proud of all our local champions who competed at the district level and would like to wish the best of luck to those who will be advancing to the state championships next month,” K of C Youth Coordinator Roger Anaya said.
