Children’s Christmas Bazaar Draws 160 Local Shoppers

This year's Children’s Christmas Bazaar at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church Dec. 4 drew 160 shoppers, 76 volunteers and a large gathering of parents waiting while their children shopped.

In 1987, “The Cosby Show” was the most popular program on television, the New York Giants won the Superbowl and a gallon of gasoline cost 89 cents.

In August of that year, Timothy D. Stidham and his wife Tanya, moved with their four children to Los Alamos from Sherman, Texas.

They were to begin what would be 25 years of service to the Los Alamos Church of Christ. Twenty-five years and counting...

The church honored the Stidhams with a banquet at Hilltop House Hotel Friday, Nov.

Live Nativity Christmas Eve At United Church

UNITED CHURCH News:

The United Church is planning a living Nativity 5-8 p.m., Christmas Eve in the parking lot west of the Church at 2525 Canyon Road, across Canyon Road from the Aquatics Center.

The nativity will be held between a family service at 4 p.m. and a candlelight service at 11 p.m. and the public is invited to attend and interact with the Living Nativity, greet the Holy Family, shepherds and kings and pet the stable animals.

Puppeteers will present a short play about the Apostle Paul’s shipwreck called “Trusting in God” at 6 p.m. Dec. 9 at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church, Canyon Road at Diamond Drive.

Join us early for a great free dinner at 5:17, then for our contemporary service with puppeteers and our live praise band.

God’s great gift to us, at Christmas and throughout the year, is that He is with us always, even in the darkest hours of our lives.

The annual Shop on the Corner Christmas Sale will offer red and “green” holiday bargains on Wednesday, Dec. 5. 

The thrift shop sale, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will include brand new and gently used items which the volunteers set aside all year.
