First Friday Pagan Dinner This Week

OLW News:

Our Lady of the Woods (OLW) will hold a First Friday Pagan Dinner at 6 p.m. Friday at the Pyramid Café in Los Alamos.

Anyone interested in paganism, Wicca, or learning about OLW is welcome to join OLW members for an informal dinner on the first Friday of each month. 

Whether a beginner, advanced practitioner or just curious, all are welcome.

God’s Message of Friendship

Come join us at Trinity On The Hill Episcopal Church’s Generations Service at 6:07 p.m. this Sunday, Sept. 8, in Kelly Hall, at 5:15 p.m. a free dinner is provided.

At the last Generations’ service, we had a wonderfully fun time giving and receiving God’s message of friendship through our upbeat music and words from our celebrants. Our new Priest-in-Charge, Fr. Gary Baldwin, called it “refreshing.” Rev. Alicia Pope gave the Gospel, and our Seminarian, Laurie Triplett, gave a very heartfelt and thought-provoking homily.

Letter to the Editor: The Next Big Idea Might Tackle Ignorance

It should be brought to the attention of the entire Los Alamos community that the 2013 Next Big Idea is scheduled on Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement and most important day of the Jewish calendar.

We understand that the event organizers have been aware of this conflict since January but decided to maintain the regularly scheduled plan for the 2nd Saturday in September. That decision is something that many members of the Jewish community in Los Alamos take to heart.

First Los Alamos Celebration Held for Lord Krishna's Birthday

Lord Krishna's birthday was celebrated with a cultural program for the first time in Los Alamos, Aug. 24 in Kelly Hall at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church.

According to the Vedas and world's oldest spiritual book Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krisha is the supreme creator of the whole creation and he is the maintainer also. He appeared on Earth many times to save the Earth from evil, and the last time he came was 5,200 years ago in Northern India, a city called Mathura.

Registration Opens for Young Life Golf Tournament

The 3rd Annual Young Life Golf Tournament is Saturday Sept. 7, at the Los Alamos Golf Course.

Prizes will include (but are not limited to) gift certificates, clothing, golf packages, golf equipment, and various other items that will be given away. There will be a Hole in One vehicle ready to win as well!

Renovations Continue at New Beginnings Fellowship
