on October 20, 2019 - 4:07pm

The Los Alamos Arts Council is again working with Los Alamos MainStreet and Creative District to bring the Annual Scarecrow Contest to downtown Los Alamos. Community members are invited to vote for the ‘Fan Favorite’ through Oct. 26 at CB FOX Department Store, Fuller Lodge Art Center or the Los Alamos Visitors Center. As a part of the Halloweekend events,  Saturday, Oct. 26, there will be a special community event 1-2 p.m. during which the winning entry in ‘Fan Favorite’ and four other categories will each receive $75 in Chamber Checks redeemable at dozens of local businesses. Official Judges from multiple local organizations will be reviewing the Scarecrows, giving points for originality, creativity and construction. Announcement of the winners will be announced before the 6 p.m. Pumpkin Glow, after the world record pumpkin carving attempt Oct. 26. Scarecrows will be on display through Nov. 1. Photo by Carol A.
