Rose Chocolatier Hosts Art Reception Tonight

Rose Chocolatier is hosting a reception Friday night for local artist, Don Cavness. Cavness paints abstracts and landscapes with palette knife and oils, intertwining color, movement, texture, creating a three-dimensional sense.
The show opens at 5 p.m. and Don will be on hand to talk about his works. Please stop in and see the show and meet the artist.
Cavness has painted with palette knife for more than 40 years, having studied with major artists Sylvia Gormley, Ramon Kelley, Dean Howell, and Helene Pfeffer.
Artistic influences recognizable in his works are Nicolai Fechin, Jim Rabby, Irby Brown, Lynn Boggess, Louisa McElwain, Jivan Lee, David Kessler, Jackson Pollock and Peter Burega.
Reception happening 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at Rose Chocolatier, 149 Central Park Square. Also, Fuller Lodge Art Center is hosting “In Memoriam’ at the same time.
