In our next lecture, we will look at some pieces painted by Lucas Cranach the Elder. Before there was Instagram and Snapchat, artists portrayed people and places chronicling the events of the day. In addition, images taught the people about God and divine things.
We will begin our visual tour in the town of Möhra where Martin Luther’s parents Hans and Margarethe were married. Next, we will head to Eisleben where Martin Luther was born and died. Then, we will explore the cities where Martin Luther was educated, namely, Mansfeld, Eisenach and Erfurt.
In Erfurt, Luther joined the Augustinian Order and was ordained a priest. Finally, we will conclude our tour in the city of Wittenberg where Dr. Martin Luther served as a professor, priest and protester of corruption.
Please join us as we take a visual tour of the Luther lands. See you 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12. For a list of all events celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, visit us at
