Rochester agreed. “It’s a way for us to give back to those responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the town.”

Marciano and Rochester are working to expand on the number of local entities participating in the program. A local attorney, lender, landscaper, engineer, inspector and others are expected to join soon.

How the program works, the press release reports, is the individual sells or buys a home with a Heroes Home Advantage Realtor. The Realtor rewards the individual with a 25 percent rebate on his commission at closing.

It is further stated in the press release that the program’s network of service providers would save participants even more money including:

  • Up to a $500 lender credit
  • An attorney fee credit of $100
  • Title fee best rates and closing gift (as allowable per state)
  • Homeowner’s Insurance best rates and closing gift (as allowable per state)

Marciano explained that Heroes Home Advantage was started by an individual in Rochester, New York, which is where Marciano is originally from. He worked with Rochester to produce a business plan and they decided to start providing the program’s services.

Rochester said the program could be very beneficial to local heroes who are homebuyers since Los Alamos is currently experiencing a seller’s market. The program gives both eligible buyers and sellers an advantage, he said. The qualifications for the eligibility are also very broad.  “It really covers a broad spectrum of individuals,” Rochester said. “We are all about giving back and being as altruistic as we can.”
