JANET HELEN BRADLEY HARRIS Oct. 15, 1931 – Dec. 21, 2017

Janet Helen Bradley Harris, Age 86, of Englewood CO passed away early on Thursday, December 21, 2017 surrounded by family in Englewood, CO.

Janet was born October 15, 1931 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, second child of Victor Alonzo and Dorothy Brackett Bradley. She studied Psychology at Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT, graduating With Honors in 1953 and marrying Donald Harris in 1954. Janet and Don lived in the Pittsburgh, PA area for 14 years.

In 1968 they relocated to Los Alamos, NM where their 7th child was born. In 1975 the family moved to Ballston Lake, NY, where they lived for 35 years. Janet earned her Master’s degree in Community Psychology at Russell Sage College (NY). She worked for Saratoga County in child-, adult- and elder-care until her retirement in 2000. Janet and Don moved to Englewood CO in 2011 to be closer to family.

Throughout her life, Janet was an active church member, Sunday school teacher, and volunteered with many organizations. She loved family get-togethers and travelled extensively with Don. She had a silly side we loved. Janet was unfailingly generous and gentle with everyone she met. She lived a full and happy life and we are truly blessed to have had her in our lives. We will miss her always.

Janet is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dr. Donald Roswell Harris; their children Sally (Corey Ford) Harris of Albuquerque, NM; Gwen Lorio of Livermore, CA; Andy (Cathie) Harris of Plainfield, CT; Dan (Julie) Harris of Centennial, CO; Julie Wood of Los Alamos, NM; Kate (Mike) Porter of Centennial, CO; and Laura (Dan) Schuller of Loveland, CO; and 12 grandchildren. Janet was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers Vic Bradley and Bob Bradley.
