New Lensic Community Council Gathers Perspectives, Ideas From Local Leaders

on March 19, 2019 - 5:34am
SANTA FE — The Lensic has established a new Community Council to guide the nonprofit performing arts center as it develops new and better ways to serve Santa Feans.
Council participants—community leaders with varied perspectives as well as Lensic staff and supporters—will share ideas, provide feedback, and discuss ways The Lensic can serve as a resource for as many Santa Feans and Northern New Mexicans as possible. It will meet four times a year and submit its recommendations to Lensic leadership.
“Providing meaningful, accessible, and affordable performing arts experiences for everyone is at the heart of The Lensic’s mission, and the Community Council will assist us in doing just that,” says Lisa Enfield, vice president of The Lensic board. Enfield will co-chair the Community Council with JoAnn Balzer, a longtime Lensic supporter and former board member.
“The Lensic has been a huge success since it opened in 2001,” Balzer said. “We’re all working to make sure its offerings continue to be relevant to the community and responsive to the times. The Lensic will be listening to the community leaders on the Council. I thank them for their input and for joining us on this important journey to benefit the entire community.”
