LAVNS Earns HealthInsight New Mexico Award

Los Alamos Visiting Nurse Service, Inc. staff celebrates receiving the HealthInsight New Mexico recognition award for ranking in the top 25 percent nationally on Home Health Care Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems. LAVNS is the only agency to receive this award in Northern New Mexico.

The not-for-profit Home Health and Hospice Agency provides intermittent skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, medical social services and home health aides.

LAVNS serves patients in Los Alamos County, northern Santa Fe County, and parts of Rio Arriba County and the services provided are under written physician orders in the patient's home, under a plan of care developed to meet their individual needs. Visits are routinely scheduled 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and on weekends as medically necessary. An RN is available on call after regular office hours as well.

LAVNS provides many community services including blood pressure clinics, participation in health fairs, volunteer education programs through local churches, volunteer training and support groups. Most Home Health Care is covered by private insurance, employers insurance, Medicare and Medicaid.
