K Of C Ladies Auxiliary Honors Nancy Kossar

on October 6, 2019 - 8:52am

Nancy Kossar, center, is honored Wednesday evening for her 40 years of volunteer service to the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Kossar spoke to the Los Alamos Daily Post about why she has volunteered with this organization for so many years. ‘I began when we first arrived in Los Alamos … my husband was a member of the Knights of Columbus and we had children and we all were very involved as a family,’ Kossar said. ‘I love people and I enjoy the Knights of Columbus – they are a bunch of beautiful men who do many charitable projects and we help them with all of their activities. I am president for this remaining year and if they vote me in again and I am physically able I will serve as president again.’ The Ladies Auxiliary also hosts annual fairs and bazaars and offers financial assistance to LA Cares, IHM Christian Concern Committee and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Soup Kitchen in Santa Fe. The Ladies Auxiliary meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the K of C Hall on DP Road. Photo by Carol A. Clark/ladailypost.com
