United Way of Northern New Mexico Cornerstone Company representatives gathered Thursday afternoon with UWNNM Executive Director Kristy Ortega at the Community Action Fund thermometer placed in front of the Los Alamos Municipal Building to celebrate another milestone.

Donations moved the thermometer up to 4,800 people who will be served so far in the annual campaign underway through December. This year's goal is to serve 13,000 people in need in Los Alamos and the surrounding area.

“We are so thankful to these companies … the fact that they recognize the importance of their support to United Way to be able to fund the programs that assist so many people in the area we serve,” Ortega said. “Our partnership with LANL and LANS also is so incredibly important and we are very grateful for their support in helping us to help the programs and people in our communities.”

UWNNM Cornerstone Companies are dedicated to investing back into the community. These companies have made the commitment to cover operating expenses and investment into people power to work on the community's most critical needs.
