AG & NMSP Apprehend Firearms Instructor Wanted On Money Laundering, Medicaid Fraud And Other Charges

ALBUQUERQUE  Thursday, Attorney General Hector Balderas and New Mexico State Police Chief Pete Kassetas announced that their agencies arrested Edward Boysel on a warrant for failure to appear in a case brought by the Office of the Attorney General.
After an investigation by New Mexico State Police Special Investigations Unit and the Office of the Attorney General Special Investigations Division, a Bernalillo County grand jury handed down an indictment against Mr. Boysel for crimes including Money Laundering (Over $50,000), Money Laundering (Under $10,000), Tax Fraud, Medicaid Fraud, Falsification of Documents, Failing to Disclose Facts of Change of Circumstances to Obtain Public Assistance (Over $2,500), Perjury, and Abandonment of a Dependent.
Boysel was indicted Oct. 26, 2017 and failed to appear at his arraignment. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest Nov. 6, 2017. Through a joint operation, Office of the Attorney General special agents and State Police officers arrested Boysel without incident yesterday afternoon and he was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center.
