JetBlue President to Speak at Quality New Mexico Learning Summit

The public is invited to attend the 19 annual Quality New Mexico Learning Summit April 22-23 at the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Albuquerque.

David Barger, president and CEO of JetBlue will be the keynote speaker at the event.

Barger founded JetBlue in August 1998 as president and chief operating officer and was named chief executive officer in May 2007. He assumed the additional role of president in June 2009.

JetBlue began operations in February 2000 from its base at New York’s John F.

Protect Yourself From Phishing Scams

As technology becomes more advanced, so does the importance of protecting your personal information. With the downturn in the economy, identity theft and fraudulent activity has increased significantly. 

There are many ways that scammers try to obtain the information necessary to either steal your identity or your account information.

One technique is by phishing, pronounced “fishing,” through emails. This column will help you learn ways to identify phishing scams and what to do if you are subjected to a scam.

Local Store Celebrates National Co-op Month

October is National Co-op Month and the Los Alamos Cooperative Market is marking the occasion by holding a Member Drive, Member Appreciation Day and partnering with local cooperative businesses.

The Co-op is encouraging the public to “Keep It Co-op.”

The Co-op is a member-owned business at which the public is always welcome to shop.

Hundreds of community members raised $1.1 million to fund construction of the Co-op store at 95 Entrada Dr., next to the Holiday Inn Express.

Membership dues provide additional capital needed for the Co-op to maintain and upgrade its facilities.


Coca Cola CEO to Speak Thursday at Hive

After reading last week's Los Alamos Daily Post story, "County's Economic Vitality Administrator Discusses Trinity Site Lease Transfer,"  Cyndi Wells, owner of Pet Pangea asked:

"So, what are these millions in redevelopment incentives?  Who are they available to?" 

The Los Alamos Daily Post put the questions to Greg Fisher and what follows is his reply.

Businesses that are expanding and adding new jobs and capital investment. They could be new businesses or existing businesses.
