CFFF issued the following statement on the announcement of the event:

The Coalition for Fire Fund Fairness (CFFF) is honored to host New Mexico Lt. Gov. Morales and former New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas at our event commemorating the 2nd anniversary of the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Fire on April 8th. The documentary “Mora is Burning” is a powerful depiction of the ongoing struggle that Northern New Mexicans face in the aftermath of the fire. As the second anniversary of this government-induced disaster approaches, we are once again reminded of FEMA’s appalling failures and gross mismanagement of the relief effort. CFFF reiterates our calls for the Biden Administration to appoint competent leadership in the FEMA claim’s office and direct FEMA to, finally, begin processing claims in accordance with state and federal law.
