Cheryl Hawk had a perfect prediction of 20:00 in the Atomic City Road Runners (ACRR) weekly pace race at Pinon Park on the bike path in White Rock.

LAHS eSports Teams Compete At State Finals

Congratulations to the Los Alamos High School eSports teams who had a great showing at State Finals May 4-5 2023. This is the 4th year that teams from LAHS have competed at the state level.

The Splatoon Team came in first place. Team members are Kaden Coleson, Ben Stringfellow, Miles Iverson, Zane Kretz, Luke Patterson, and Ralston Hoffer.

LAHS’s Melaki Gutierrez Shines At Great Southwest Classic

Melaki Gutierrez (4th from left) competed June 3 at the Great Southwest Track & Field in Albuquerque, placing 5th overall in the 100 with a time of 10.56. Gutierrez also placed 3rd overall in the 200 with a time of 21.28. Gutierrez was part of a relay that took 1st place with a time of 40.53, which ranks them number 12 in the nation and puts them at number 7 all-time for the Great Southwest Classic. County Parks Division Releases Schedule For Tennis & Pickleball Court Resurfacing

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Parks Division has contracted with Hellas Construction to resurface eight tennis courts and two pickleball courts across the county this summer as part of ongoing maintenance.

The project was delayed due to the unusually cold spring weather. Work has been rescheduled to begin June 19, 2023.  

The courts are scheduled to be resurfaced as follows, weather permitting: 

  • Rover Park Tennis Courts (2) – June 19-23,  
  • Piñon Park Tennis Courts (3) – June 26-30,  
  • Myrtle Park Pickleball Courts (2) – July 3-7, and  
  • Barranca Mesa Park Tennis Courts (3) – July 10-14.
