FBI Campaign Against Violent Crime Spreads To Las Cruces

The bad news: Violent crime isn’t restricted to one part of New Mexico.

The good news: Neither are FBI investigations. 

An FBI billboard campaign begun in Albuquerque that warns violent criminals they will be targeted for federal investigation and prosecution has expanded to Las Cruces.

A digital billboard on North Solano Drive in Las Cruces carries the message: “Gun Crime = Federal Time. No parole.”

Los Alamos High School juniors Erin Gattis, Marina Naranjo and Solenne Thelliez have been selected to participate in the 2022 Peace Ambassador Program.

They are among 15 young women selected from 350 applicants to participate in this unique program.

Peace Ambassadors is a six-month program that develops young women’s leadership and global networking. Female teens (15-18 years old) will develop skills such as public speaking, media literacy, compassionate listening and emotional intelligence.

President Joe Biden has selected Ketanji Brown Jackson as his nominee to succeed retiring United States Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer.

Jackson, 51, is an attorney and jurist serving as a circuit judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
