SANTA FE — Officials of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD), State Parks Division, announced that Pecos Canyon State Park re-opened to the public for normal operations Friday, Sept. 2.

Bandelier National Monument is once again hosting artists in the park and welcomes the first of three Artists in Residence of the 2022 season, Sarah Colby.

Colby was born in northern New Mexico and raised in the Rocky Mountains. She is married to a retired Army Chaplain and has a son in the Navy. Colby has an MFA in Creative Writing from Sierra Nevada College and an exuberant interest in making the ordinary luminous. SANTA FE — The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) today reduced the size of the temporary area and road closure for the Hermits Peak Calf Canyon Fire, reopening an additional 214,000 acres that were closed to public access under the previous closure order.
