SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 117 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County remains at 20 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update announces 1 additional death reported in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Human Services Department, Behavioral Health Services Division and the New Mexico Crisis and Access Line are announcing a campaign to raise awareness about the availability of a 24/7 statewide emotional support helpline to assist New Mexicans who are experiencing anxiety, stress or emotional challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

USDA Announces Award For New Milk Incentive Program

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced the award of nearly $1 million for an innovative pilot program designed to encourage Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants to purchase and consume milk as part of a healthy, balanced diet.

This pilot project builds on the success of previous incentive programs, which have shown positive impacts on the healthfulness of a persons’ diet.

SNAP Benefits To Increase In Fiscal Year 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Wednesday released its June 2020 Cost of Foods Report, announcing a more than 5 percent increase in the cost of the Thrifty Food Plan from last year.

This increase is more than double the 20-year annual average increase of around 2 percent. Based on this new update, beginning Oct. 1, 2020, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants’ maximum monthly benefit allotment will be at the highest level in the history of the program.
