New Mexico COVID-19 Update: 103 New Cases, Total Now At 26,761 With 2 More Deaths And 14,407 Patients Recovered

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 103 additional positive tests for COVID-19.
Los Alamos County remains at 29 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.
Today’s update announces 2 new deaths reported in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:
- 19 new cases in Bernalillo County
- 29 new cases in Chaves County
- 1 new case in Cibola County
- 2 new cases in Curry County
- 10 new cases in Doña Ana County
- 5 new cases in Eddy County
- 1 new case in Grant County
- 14 new cases in Lea County
- 2 new cases

ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) began processing payments to unemployed workers under the federal Lost Wages Assistance (LWA) program Sept. 3.
New Mexico was one of the first states to apply and be approved for the LWA grant when it was announced 4 weeks ago.

The Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration Los Alamos Field Office has issued a National Environmental Policy Act Categorical Exclusion (CX) for the modification and upgrade of the NM-4 and East Jemez Road intersection on Los Alamos National Laboratory lands owned by the DOE, within Santa Fe County, New Mexico.

NMSP Officer Shot In Unprovoked Attack Saturday On I-40
NMSP News:
CIBOLA COUNTY – At about 9:30 a.m. Saturday a New Mexico State Police officer on patrol on Interstate 40 at milepost 130 near Laguna initiated a traffic stop on a GMC pickup.
The pickup was occupied by one male later identified as Robert Benjamin Nelson, 28, of Scottsdale, Ariz.
As the officer made her initial approach to the vehicle, Nelson appeared to fire multiple rounds at her head. After being struck, the officer was able to recover and return fire at the suspect.
