Air Force Research Laboratory Scholars Internship Program Accepting Applications Through Jan. 12, 2021

KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE — The Air Force Research Laboratory’s Scholars program is now accepting applications for its 2021 summer session.

The program provides an opportunity for students ranging from high school to university graduate students interested in STEM careers, to work alongside top scientists and engineers.

PED Hires New Deputy Cabinet Secretary Vickie Bannerman

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) has hired a new deputy secretary to head up the Identity, Equity and Transformation division.

Vickie Bannerman steps into the role Dec. 14, succeeding Kara Bobroff, who resigned July 1.

She is the principal of Albuquerque Public School’s Volcano Vista High School, the state’s fifth largest high school.

Previously, Bannerman was principal at Wilson Middle School in Albuquerque. She serves on the APS Principals’ Association executive board and as an Equity Advocate for APS.

Albertsons Pledges To Regularly Test Every Employee At All 34 New Mexico Locations Under New State Agreement

The New Mexico Departments of Health and Environment announced a new initiative Tuesday that offers greater public health protections to employees and customers of essential businesses while avoiding closure requirements.

The agreement requires proactive COVID-19 regular testing and contact tracing of essential workers.

NMED COVID-19 Business Watchlist For Nov. 25, 2020

NMED News:

The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) has updated its daily Rapid Response COVID-19 Watchlist, which includes New Mexico places of employment that have had two or more rapid responses in the last 14 days.

There are 299 establishments on the Watchlist as of Wednesday.

The current Rapid Response COVID-19 Watchlist and closure list, which includes all establishments that are currently required to be closed, are posted here.

NCRTD To Resume Limited Service Monday Nov. 30

NCRTD News:

North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) RTD Blue Bus routes will resume Monday, Nov. 30 by providing essential service on a limited basis.

All routes will operate on either a demand request or reservation basis with the exception of the 290 Edgewood route and the 170 Jicarilla route, though 170 will continue to serve paratransit customers in the Chama/Dulce area.

Additionally, the 190 Chama route will provide demand service within Chama and Tierra Amarilla providing essential local trips within those communities.

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 1,469 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County reports 2 more cases today … the total is now 124 people who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update includes 18 new deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
