Los Alamos County Recreation Facilities Now Closed Per Governor’s Amended Public Health Order Until further Notice

COUNTY News:

All Los Alamos County Recreation Facilities and Parks are closed effective today, as part of the Governor’s amended Public Health Order issued Friday, Nov. 13.

While this order is in place, the Los Alamos County Golf Course, Aquatic Center, Tennis Courts, Athletic Fields, Pavilions, Basketball Courts, Special Use Parks (RC, Skate Parks) and Covered Arena on North Mesa are now closed.

Stratodynamics And University Of Kentucky To Conduct Test Flights At Spaceport America In New Mexico

Stratodynamics Inc. and research collaborators from the University of Kentucky will conduct a multi-flight campaign along with engineers from autopilot developer UAVOS starting early December at Spaceport America.

The two-week campaign is the culmination of an experimental NASA Flight Opportunities project to validate a new method of real time, forward sensing turbulence detection developed by the University and NASA Langley. Read More

SANTA FE — Legislation introduced by U.S. Senate Republicans to fund the United States Department of the Interior for fiscal year 2021 has excluded language intended to protect the Greater Chaco region from increased oil and gas drilling.

In 2019, New Mexico Senators Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich included a rider to the fiscal year 2020 Interior appropriations bill directing the Bureau of Land Management to refrain from approving new oil and gas lease sales within 10 miles of Chaco Culture National Historical Park.

…List includes New Mexico businesses with two or more rapid responses within the last 14 days

The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) has updated its daily Rapid Response COVID-19 Watchlist, which includes New Mexico places of employment that have had two or more rapid responses in the last 14 days.

There are 216 establishments on the Watchlist.

NCRTD Blue Bus Routes Districtwide Temporarily Suspended Due To Employees Testing Positive For Coronavirus

NCRTD News:

North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) Blue Bus routes, districtwide, will be temporarily suspended effective immediately.

Three employees based in the RTD Taos facility have tested positive for coronavirus. Some of these positive employees had interacted with employees from the Española facility.

To guarantee proper safety measures, while taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of all employees and passengers, all services will be placed on hold.

Food Depot Closes Due To Staff Positive COVID-19 Test

THE FOOD DEPOT News:

SANTA FE — The Food Depot closed Friday, Nov. 13, due to a staff member testing positive for COVID-19. 

The Food Depot learned Friday that a staff member had a confirmed case of COVID-19 and closed immediately.

It is unknown when or how this individual contracted the virus. The staff member is receiving appropriate medical attention and quarantining at home.

The food bank’s proactive transmission prevention strategies have protected hunger relief efforts up to this point, and will continue to minimize exposure in the future.
