YMCA Hosts Free Thanksgiving Day Workout

FAMILY YMCA News:
 
The Family YMCA is hosting a free Zumba workout 9-10 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, in the Y gymnasium.
 
To help individuals prioritize their health during the holidays, the Y welcomes all ages in the community to come move, groove and laugh during this workout. Y membership is not required.
 
The public is encouraged to spread the holiday spirit and encourage friends and family to join in the fun. Doors open at 8:45am on the north side of the building, 1450 Iris St.
 
Special hours at the Y during the holiday:
  • 5:30 a.m.

Purgatory Ski Resort Set To Open Saturday

DURANGO, Colo. – With more snow in the forecast this week, outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy a unique experience Saturday, Nov. 18 at Purgatory Resort. Ski and mountain bike on the same day, at the same resort. 

Purgatory Resort opens for ski season Saturday, Nov. 18 with Lifts 1 and 2 operating 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with access to the trails Westfork and El Diablo, PLUS Lift 4 will provide lift-served mountain biking, weather permitting.

Small Prescribed Burn Planned In Santa Fe Watershed To Restore Forest Health, Reduce Risk Of Wildfire

SFNF News:

SANTA FE -- Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) are planning to take advantage of unseasonably favorable conditions, including fuel moisture levels, air quality, forecasted winds and weather, to conduct a one-day prescribed burn Thursday in the Santa Fe Watershed.

The 248-acre treatment area is approximately 4 miles east of the City of Santa Fe on the east end of the McClure Reservoir and adjacent to the western boundary of the Pecos Wilderness.
