Hilltopper Volleyball Ends Season In District Semifinal

SANTA FE – The Los Alamos Hilltopper volleyball team got on a roll, winning three of their past four games heading into a District 2-5A semifinal match against the Capital Jaguars on Thursday night.

The ‘Toppers started out strong as the aggressors in game one, maintaining a two- to four-point lead for the majority of the match.

RIO RANCHO - The Los Alamos Hilltopper girls’ cross country team put together an impressive showing at the New Mexico Activities Association’s state meet held at Rio Rancho High School on Saturday. The ‘Toppers finished with a team total 69 points, which was good enough for a second place finish and a new red trophy to display at Griffith Gym.

NMSP Helicopter Crew Locates Lost Hunter

PECOS – On the morning of Monday Oct. 23, members of the New Mexico State Police Aircraft Section were called to assist a search and rescue team attempting to locate a lost hunter in the mountains north of Pecos.
 
The 64-year-old hunter did not return as planned from his hunting trip and had spent the previous two nights alone, enduring freezing temperatures in the high mountains of the Pecos Wilderness.
 
Shortly after arriving on scene, the NMSP flight crew located the hunter seated next to a tree in an open meadow at approximately 10,200 feet.

Parks & Rec Board Reviews Capital Projects Thursday

COUNTY News:

Capital projects for Golf Course Improvements, Ice Rink Improvements, Pinon Park Splash Pad and a Kiddie Pool that were moved forward by County Council at their Aug. 8 meeting will be discussed by the Parks and Recreation Board this Thursday, Nov. 9.

The Board is expected to make recommendations about the projects that will be forwarded to the Council to consider at their Council meeting Dec. 5.

The public is welcome to attend and give public comments to the Board this Thursday. The meeting is 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.

After a 7-0 victory over the Albuquerque AYSO EM Timbers at the New Mexico State Soccer Complex in Bernalillo, the Duke City Soccer League's Girls U11 Lasers soccer team moved into second place in the challenge bracket with a record of three wins, one loss and two ties.
