SANTA FE — The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) urges communities and landowners in proximity to the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon burn scar to closely monitor alerts from the National Weather Service (NWS) in Albuquerque this week as a back door cold front brings erratic monsoonal moisture and potential for flash flooding.

NMDOT: Elevated Risk Of Flash Flooding

NMDOT News:

New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) remonds residents near New Mexico’s ongoing wildfires they are now at risk of flash-flooding.

NMDOT advises residents to monitor the daily forecast for rain, especially if they are near or downhill from burn scars.

Dangerous conditions can form within minutes and may turn into mudslides with fast-moving debris.

Anyone needing assistance should an evacuation occur, is advised to call call 800.432.2080. For emergency assistance, dial 9-1-1.

  • David Allen Murphy to the Second Judicial District Court serving Bernalillo County;
  • Karl William Reifsteck to the Thirteenth Judicial District Court serving Cibola, Sandoval, and Valencia counties; and
  • Asra Imtiaz Elliott to the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court.
