New Mexico Environment Department Enforcement Watch Alert: 298 Enforcement Actions Initiated, 112 Resolved In March 2024

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) released updates for the month of March 2024 on the Enforcement Watch.

The Enforcement Watch is a listing of all active and resolved enforcement cases. Active cases involve an alleged violation of a regulation, rule, permit, license, etc. Resolved cases are those that were adjudicated in court of law or administratively resolved.

The Enforcement Watch also provides tools for the public to report alleged environmental or workplace safety violations.

SANTA FE — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced the appointment of Diana Garcia to fill a vacant judicial seat at the Second Judicial District Court in Albuquerque.

Garcia’s appointment will fill the vacancy created when Honorable Judge Benjamin Chavez retired in January.  

A 14th generation New Mexican, Garcia is a graduate of New Mexico State University and the University of New Mexico School of Law.

SANTA FE — The Financial Institutions Division of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department (NMRLD) announced today that it has ordered Sigue Corp. to cease engaging in money transmission activities in New Mexico as the company can no longer responsibly serve customers due to its declining financial position.

Over Spring Break, cadets from Los Alamos NJROTC traveled to Colorado to put eyes and hands on what they have been learning about in the classroom throughout the year.
