SANTA FE — Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) will close from March 25 through April 1 for Spring Break and Spring Holiday.
No classes or student services will be available. SFCC’s child development center Kids Campus and the William C. Witter Fitness Education Center also will be closed.

Concrete Work On San Ildefonso Road Has Begun
COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets has begun to repair sections of sidewalk along San Ildefonso Road. The sections are between Camino Uva and North Mesa Road as well as between North Mesa Park Road and Sioux Street.
Work will continue through March 8. To facilitate a smooth flow of pedestrian and bike traffic during the repair process, crews will be present to assist individuals around the work zones as needed.

BANDELIER NATIONAL MONUMENT — The National Park Service (NPS) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have completed an air tour management plan for Bandelier National Monument.
The plan prohibits commercial air tours over the park and within one-half mile outside its boundary to protect natural and cultural resources, sacred Tribal places, wilderness areas, and visitor experiences.

LA Cares Helps Record Number Of Families In New Year

LA Cares, our local food pantry (and more!), has helped 59 households with rent or utility assistance for a total of $32,000 in January and February of 2024. This accounts for nearly 38 percent of our expenditures in 2023 for utility and rent assistance (instead of the 16.5 percent it should be)!
As you can see, the need is here; our by-laws restrict our outreach to only residents of Los Alamos County. Because of the increased need this year, we have temporarily reduced the amount of assistance to each household, so that we will have enough resources in reserve to help Read More
