Lily Is Available For Adoption At Los Alamos Animal Shelter

Lily is a 5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog and Bernese Mountain Dog mix surrendered by her owner on March 16 to the Los Alamos Animal Shelter. She enjoys long, fast walks and likes to play. She will be available to meet at a special adoption event this weekend at Petsense, 1506 N. Riverside Drive in Española along with other adorable pets. Los Alamos County and the Los Alamos Housing Partnership (LAHP) have announced they will be ending their partnership after 30 years of success.

“We are grateful for the work LAHP has done over the years managing the Home Renewal Program and Homebuyer Assistance Program,” Dan Osborn, Housing & Special Projects Manager at Los Alamos County said. “Under the most recent contract LAHP has allowed us to give out nearly $2 million to a total of nearly 100 homeowners – something we couldn’t have done without them.”

Quemazon Place Road Repair Scheduled For April 26, 29, 30

COUNTY News:

After water from a leaking gate valve and subsequent repair efforts destroyed a roadway in the Quemazon subdivision Wednesday, Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities (DPU) and the Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets Division collaborated on a plan to fix the road as quickly as possible.

Repairs are scheduled for Friday, Monday and Tuesday April 26, 29, 30.

New Mexico Taxation And Revenue Urges Taxpayer Caution On Fraudulent Letters Threatening Seizure Of Properties

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department (NMTRD) is warning taxpayers about fraudulent demand letters going out to property owners who are delinquent on their taxes.

The letters tell the owners to call a 1-800 number by a certain date or the state will seize their property. Letters have been sent to property owners in Valencia County and possibly elsewhere. The letters are not from the state Taxation and Revenue Department.
