Mabel P. Grey-Vigil, wife, mother, sister and dear friend to all, died peacefully on May 20, 2016 at her home in Albuquerque. 
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Tony E. and Connie O. Martinez, of Espanola. She is survived by her husband of 30 years Michael Vigil, daughter Denise Grey and wife Yvette of Albuquerque, step-daughter Yvonne Montgomery of Ft. Hood, Texas, sister Betty Martinez and husband Bob Janssen of Bernalillo, niece Tina Martinez and Donald Jaramillo of Ponderosa, brother Ernie J.

RUSSELL F. SHAW, M.D. April 15, 2016

Dr. Shaw passed away on April 15, 2016. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Russ attended local schools before graduating from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island in 1955. It was at Brown University that he met Cynthia - his wife of 59 years.

His interest in medicine took him to Albany Medical College in Albany, New York where he earned his medical degree. After medical school, he chose to specialize in pediatrics and completed his residency in pediatrics in Columbus, Ohio.

Jason W. Ott, 34, died on May 12, 2016, of injuries suffered in an accident in Arizona.

Jason was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on May 4, 1982 and was a 2001 graduate of Los Alamos High School. Jason is survived by his mother, Kathleen Veenstra and partner Grady Stem; his father Will Ott and wife Cindy; his sister Julia Toler, husband Josh, and Jason’s adored nieces and nephews Ava, Grey, Griffin, Norah and Ingrid; his sister Emily Veenstra-Ott and fiancé Kevin O’Neal; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

EDWARD ROMERO Oct. 14, 1930 – May 14, 2016

Edward Romero, 85, a former resident of Cuyamungue, and current resident of Los Alamos, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016. 

Edward was preceded in death by his wife Flora E. Romero; parents Jose Erineo and Ursinia Ortiz Romero; brothers Juan Gavino and Julian; sisters Ermelinda and Sally. 

Edward proudly served in the United States Army. He was employed by the Atomic Energy Commission, Zia Company, and the State of New Mexico. 

He is survived by his daughter Terrie and husband Ray; and sons Edward LeRoy, Ronald  and wife Rose, and Gerald

HILLARD HAYS HOWARD March 19, 1943 – June 30, 2015

Hillard Hays Howard, 72, died June 30, 2015 at the Heart of the Rockies Medical Center in Salida, Colorado.

Hillard was born to Harold French and Ruth Bugg Howard on March 19,1943 in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Hillard was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lynn. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cheryll Faust.

Hillard received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from UNM and a PhD in Physics from Vanderbilt University.
