LAMC’s Rachel Allen Earns 2017 Mercy Award

Los Alamos Medical Center Patient Access Representative Rachel Allen was selected to receive this year’s Mercy Award from LifePoint, the hospital’s parent company.

At a special gathering Thursday at LAMC, Human Resource Director Jacqui Carroll said Allen has been employed at the hospital just a little more than a year and has emerged as a shining star.

“She has made an impression by volunteering to head up or participate on numerous hospital committees,” Carroll said. “Whether she’s promoting customer service, employee engagement or community outreach, Rachel brings a spirit of teamwork that rallies those around her to get excited and get involved. She is always first to volunteer, whether it’s working an extra shift, coordinating a celebration or raising money – where ever there is a need, she is there.”

Carroll said that Allen also took on the monumental task of managing this year’s Relay for Life, LAMC’s signature event, which involved months of planning, leading meetings, recruiting volunteers, soliciting funds and finding creative ways to get the community involved … and she did it all as a single mom and working a demanding job.

“Rachel’s patients adore her, Carroll said, “and she goes out of her way to give them a world-class experience.”

Allen said she loves working at LAMC and is honored to receive LifePoint’s 2017 Mercy Award.
