Staff Report

The LANL Major Subcontractors Consortium (MSC) hosted an event for U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich during his May 5 visit to Los Alamos.

MSC President Joseph Sanchez welcomed Heinrich and introduced him to the crowd gathered at Cottonwood on the Greens at the Los Alamos Golf Course.

MSC is comprised of many of the businesses that hold a contract with Los Alamos National Laboratories (LANL) valued at $5 million or more. Collectively, all major LANL subcontractors employ approximately 2,000 Northern New Mexicans with an estimated annual payroll in excess of $110 million.

The MSC focuses on leveraging its combined charitable giving and business skills to support education, economic development and community giving throughout Northern New Mexico. Between 2009 and 2015, investments in these initiatives by MSC subcontractors exceed $4 million. Beyond giving, the MSC works on topics and issues that impact the success of Northern New Mexico businesses.
