Note: This is the first of a two-part series on the emotional system that influences our lighter side. It’s fun but, if we’re not careful, can also cause us some trouble.
Many mammals demonstrate behaviors known as rough and tumble (RAT) play. The behaviors and the stimuli that evoke the behaviors are so similar that it’s clear that we and other species share the same innate neural networks that control them.
