SANTA FE – Visitors to the Santa Fe National Forest Saturday should be prepared for more traffic than usual on N.M. 475, the road to the Santa Fe ski basin, due to the Ultra Santa Fe races and the three-day holiday weekend.

The Ultra includes four different races that begin and end at Ski Santa Fe. The 50-miler, 50-kilometer and 13-miler all take place on single-track trails and the 1-miler is a vertical dash up the ski slope following the path of the chairlift.

So in venturing out for a Saturday hike near Santa Fe, be prepared for more congestion and less parking than usual on a sunny September day.
