CONNIE L. REZAC (HAYDEN) Jan. 26, 1942 – Sept. 19, 2017

Connie L. Rezac (formerly Connie L. Hayden) passed away peacefully on September 19, 2017 in the loving care of Casa de La Luz Hospice in Tucson, AZ.

Connie is survived by her husband John Rezac of Tucson, AZ.; Sister Ruthie Banta (Ken) of Thornton, CO., Son David Hayden (Jennifer) and Daughter Donna Hayden of Los Alamos, NM; Grandchildren Austin Hayden (Dominique), Logan Hayden (Lis), and Haylee Hayden; and Great Granddaughter Piper Hayden.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Jim Hayden, her grandson Isaac Hayden, and her sister Darlene Bradley.

Connie was born on January 26th, 1942 in Anderson, IN. She moved to Los Alamos, NM with her parents Jim and Virginia Banta in 1952. She graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1960 and married her high school sweetheart in September of 1960. Her son David was born in 1961 and her daughter Donna was born in 1963. She spent her early career dedicated to raising her children.

In the early 70’s Connie became interested in Montessori education and received her NCME teaching certification. In 1975 she purchased Sage Montessori School in White Rock, NM and operated it until her retirement in 1996. In addition to running the Montessori school and teaching, Connie started an NCME teacher training program, training and certifying many of the Montessori teachers in the Southwest United States. Connie was dedicated to the Montessori education philosophy and shared her love with many children in Los Alamos and served on the NCME board for many years.

Upon the death of her husband Jim, Connie moved to Tucson, AZ to be closer to her high school friend Janet Jones. She met and married John Rezac in Tucson. Connie and John enjoyed splitting their time between Tucson, AZ and Buena Vista, CO. They loved to spend time together visiting family and friends and golfing. Their dogs were constant companions and they loved having them with them.

Connie has been active in church in Los Alamos, Tucson, and Buena Vista and is now at peace with the Lord. A memorial service will be held on November 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2390 North Road, Los Alamos, NM.
