LAVA Launches Official Website

on September 3, 2014 - 5:52am

LAVA News:

The Los Alamos Venture Accelerator (LAVA) launched its official website http://lava.guru.

The website gives entrepreneurs everything they need to successfully launch their startups. Users can

  • learn fundamentals of entrepreneurship,
  • locate resources like other startup companies,
  • find out about events and job openings,
  • connect with other entrepreneurs, mentors and investors.

The website, and the LAVA organization, were modeled after founder Nicholas Seet’s virtual incubator www.sivi.com. However, LAVA offers more personal interaction and local networking opportunities.

LAVA will host an Elevator Pitch Contest 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sept. 11 at Fuller Lodge as part of Los Alamos ScienceFest. Participants will learn how to explain their business ideas in 60-seconds or less. At least $1,000 in prize money will be awarded. Sign up at http://lava.guru.

Seet will teach a course called Financing the Entrepreneurial Enterprise Sept. 19 at the Small Business Development Center, 190 Central Park Square, behind the post office.
