Hearing Forces NM Secretary of State to Obey Law

Chief Judge Barbara Vigil of the First Judicial District Court of New Mexico will hear arguments at 4 p.m. today (May 31) from publicly-funded PRC Candidate Cynthia B. Hall and others concerning whether New Mexico Secretary of State Dianna J. Duran should release matching funds as required by state law. 

Hall hopes for a decision today on the Temporary Restraining Order and Amended Petition for Writ of Mandamus she filed over the last week.

Early Voting Ends Saturday!

2012 Primary Election Information:

Los Alamos County Bureau of Elections is reminding registered voters that Early Voting will end on Saturday.

Until then, votes can be cast from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Saturday, June 2 at the Los Alamos Community Building, 475 20th St. or White Rock Fire Station #3, 129 N.M. 4.

Absentee Voting In Person will also end on Saturday.

Until then, votes can be cast from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday, June 1 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday June 2 at the Los Alamos County Clerk’s Office, 2451 Central Ave., Suite D.

I want to thank all of my constituents living in Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Sandoval and Santa Fe counties for the warm receptions I received along the campaign trail. 

I have been ill recently, so I will probably not be able to see a lot of you who live in the areas I planned to visit before election day.

As I met with some of you, we talked about topics related to our daily lives and we shared ideas about them.

I have been honored, in recent weeks, to appear before voters in Los Alamos and Rio Arriba counties to debate the issues with my opponent for the District 5 State Senate seat.

First John F. Kennedy Banquet Set for June 2

DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF LOS ALAMOS News:

The Democratic Party of Los Alamos will host its first JFK Banquet 6-9 p.m., Saturday June 2 at the Best Western Hilltop House.

Local baseball legend Bun Ryan is the featured guest.

U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Lujan is the at the Keynote Speaker. A special video will be shown of U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman honoring Bun Ryan.

The cost is $50 per person or reserve a table of eight for $350.

The Justice Center lobby will remain open 7-9 p.m., during the June 5 Primary Election for the public to gather and watch as the Los Alamos County Clerk posts election results.
 
For those community members unable to attend, the Los Alamos Daily Post news team will be out in force providing complete election night coverage live from the Justice Center.
