LAFCF News:

The Los Alamos Film and Culture Festival (LAFCF) has shared the full schedule of films coming to SALA Event Center (2551 Central Ave.) April 28-May 5, 2024. LAFCF welcomes a unique selection of filmmakers worldwide to present new films and share behind-the-scenes information about each story and production.

This inaugural Festival brings 20 films from 13 different countries to Los Alamos and provides multiple opportunities for meet and greets with the filmmakers, question and answer discussions, and cultural attractions.

Schedule:

  • Sunday, April 28, 10 a.m. to noon – The kick-off VIP Welcome Brunch will be at Fuller Lodge (2132 Central Ave.), and will host actor and filmmaker Matthew Modine, who stars in the film “The Martini Shot” featured on Wednesday this year. Many will recognize Modine as Vannevar Bush in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” and Dr. Martin Brenner in “Stranger Things”. Enjoy  mimosas with Matthew by purchasing a VIP Festival Pass, which includes the Brunch, all 20 films and festival events.
  • Monday April 29, 6 p.m. – Global Harmony directed by Fabio Massa
  • Tuesday April 30, 6 p.m. – The Nita & Zita Project directed by Marci Darling Johnson
  • Wednesday May 1, 6 p.m. – The Martini Shot directed by Stephen Wallis
  • Thursday May 2, 6 p.m. – American Underdog directed by Gustavo Martin Benites
  • Friday May 3, 6 p.m. –  The Last Bumblebee directed by Jack Winch, Janice Overbeck
  • Saturday May 4, 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. – Shorts Theater A
                      11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. – Shorts Theater B
                     3-5 p.m. – Till Love Do Us Part directed by Ran Li
                     6-8 p.m. – The Genízaro Experience directed by Gary Medina
  •  Sunday May 5, 12-2 p.m. – Sisters Of Ukraine directed by Mike Dorsey
                   3-5 p.m. – It Isn’t JUST Politics directed by Liza Asner
                               6-8 p.m. – Mother directed by Zornitsa Sophia

Tickets are on sale now for VIP Festival Passes, which include all eight days of the event, including 20 films, a talk with the filmmakers, the VIP Welcome Brunch, and cultural attractions for just $60 per person. Individual tickets will soon be available for each film on the Festival website at  www.losalamosfilmandculturefestival.org.
